I saw a facebook post yesterday where a friend was "feeling irritated" because the new mask honor system guidelines weren't really working out how she would like.
One of her friends posted in response, "people need to learn to do the right thing."
It got me thinking about what the "right thing" means. Is there a right and a wrong anymore or is the "right thing" only right if you're following what the masses think you should do?
The right thing, in this person's mind, is that everyone who is not vaccinated must wear a mask.
Let's talk about the right thing when it comes to this pandemic.
Was it right for China to lie about the infection that started in Wuhan?
Was it right for the WHO to ignore Taiwans reports about human to human spread because China tells them Taiwan has no right to speak up?
Was it right to call the president racist for the travel ban and then continue to blame him for "not doing enough"?
Was it right to politicize, and in some places, ban, certain treatments for COVID-19 because the president spoke positively about them?
Was it right to ban certain videos from being shared on Facebook and Youtube where doctors talked about alternate treatments or dared to suggest ways to boost your immune system in natural ways?
Was it right to lie about the numbers for herd immunity and slowly inch them upward because the public can't handle the truth?
Was it right to lie and say wearing a mask after being vaccinated isn't political theater and then admit that it actually was?
Was it right to decide what businesses are "essential" and restrict people from making a living because now, them feeding their family isn't as essential as costco and walmart making money?
Was it right to delete instagram pages, facebook accounts and youtube videos that speak against vaccination?
Is it right to make a woman fear that her baby will be taken from her after birth if she tests positive to the virus? Or that she will have to give birth without a spouse or trusted support person? Or labor and deliver in a mask?
When we know fresh air and sunlight are good for us and our immune systems, is it right to force people to cover their faces and tell them the chance of getting the virus outdoors is almost 10%. But then walk that back and admit that the chance of getting the virus outdoors is less than 1% but you told people it was higher "for their own safety"?
Is it right to threaten people with police, arrest and fines for getting together or traveling but be caught on camera in a restaurants, or in a different state or country?
Is it right to force schools to stay closed but send your own child to their open private school?
Is it right to promise 2 weeks to flatten the curve and make that last over a year?
Is it right to swear we wouldn't have to do this if we weren't trying to keep the medical system from being over run but even when its not, the lockdowns, restrictions and closures continue?
Is it right to send people infected with Covid-19 from a hospital to a nursing home where more people will be infected and die?
Is it right to politicize a deadly virus because you don't like the president?
Is it right to politicize a deadly virus?
And finally, is it "right" to shame people for making a personal decision you know little to nothing about?
This is not an exhaustive list. I have a lot of questions about what "doing the right thing" actually means.
The way it looks to me, "People need to learn to do the right thing" really means, people need to do exactly what they're told without weighing the pros and cons, risks and benefits and deciding for themselves, and their family what is best for them.
That is the opposite of the right thing, in my opinion.
Yes! I love this. Thank you for speaking up
ReplyDeleteYes !! This is everything I have been thinking. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAgree 100%!
ReplyDeleteThe world is a MUCH better place when we encourage others to think critically and ask questions. Shaming people for questioning is a tactic of dictators.
ReplyDeleteI love this! You are aware of the issues and have done your research (which didn’t come from msm propaganda). Ultimately we are dealing with coercion/ force and blind obedience (Satan’s plan), or learning and study accompanied by prayer and personal revelation to discern what to do for you and your family (your stewardship/ God’s plan). Isn’t our prophet saying the ONLY way we can survive this onslaught of opinions and confusion is through personal revelation? That is the end game for me. No one’s opinion can supercede what I have prayerfully decided to do for myself and my family. Love you Keri!
